MatchDay Live As Arsenal Beats Chelsea Today And Man United Win.

Arsenal overpowered London rivals Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to mark Arsene Wenger's 20th anniversary as Gunners boss in style.
Earlier, Manchester United thrashed defending Premier League champions Leicester City 4-1 to vindicate manager Jose Mourinho's decision to drop Wayne Rooney while Manchester City maintained their perfect start with a 3-1 win at Swansea City.
Arsenal scored twice in three minutes against a Chelsea defence missing injured captain John Terry with an ankle injury.
The Gunners were 1-0 up in the 11th minute when Alexis Sanchez robbed centre-back Gary Cahill and chipped the ball over goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Minutes later it was 2-0 when Theo Walcott finished off a slick Arsenal passing move.
Arsenal, who hadn't beaten Chelsea in nine matches, were 3-0 up in the 40th minute when Mesut Ozil and Sanchez exchanged passes before the former volleyed home.
United scored four goals, three from set-pieces, as Chris Smalling, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba – with his first goal since his return from Juventus – all found the back of the net between the 22nd and 42nd minutes at Old Trafford.
England skipper Rooney was limited to a few minutes off the bench but Mourinho told Sky Sports: "Wayne Rooney is a big player for me, United and this country.
Leicester managed a brilliant consolation goal from halftime substitute Demarai Gray but that could not stop the Foxes shipping four goals for the second time in as many away league games after doing so at Liverpool a fortnight ago.
"It's not possible to concede three goals off corners, that means you are not concentrating," said Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri.
QUALITY AGUERO
Sergio Aguero marked his return from a three-game ban for a wayward elbow as Manchester City won 3-1 away to Swansea – the second time in a week they had triumphed at the Liberty Stadium after their EFL Cup victory over the south Wales side.
Aguero fired City into a ninth-minute lead but Swansea were level minutes later when Fernando Llorente lashed in a half-volley.
City, however, regained the lead with an Aguero penalty in the 65th minute after Mike van der Hoorn fouled Kevin De Bruyne in the box.
Raheem Sterling, using Aguero as a decoy, made it 3-1 in the 77th minute.
"Sergio is quality," said Guardiola. "His first step, second step in the box is so good and that is why he is one of the best strikers in the world but I want to help him improve his game.
Liverpool overpowered Hull City 5-1 after the Tigers spent much of the match a man down at Anfield, with the Reds 3-0 up inside 36 minutes.
Adam Lallana put Liverpool ahead in the 17th minute and Hull then found themselves down a man when Ahmed Elmohamady was sent off after blocking Philippe Coutinho's goal-bound shot with his arm.
James Milner scored from the resulting penalty and Sadio Mane then made it 3-0.
David Meyler pulled a goal back before Coutinho scored with a brilliant 25-yard strike.
Milner scored his second penalty of the match after Daniel Sturridge was tripped by Andrew Robertson.
South Korea's Son Heung-Min scored twice inside the opening 23 minutes as Tottenham Hotspur, without injured England star Harry Kane, won 2-1 away to Middlesbrough, who pulled a goal back through Ben Gibson.
Spurs are second, four points behind leaders City and a point ahead of Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton.
Bournemouth ended Everton's unbeaten start to the season with a 1-0 home win secured by Junior Stanislas's superb shot into the top corner.
At the Stadium of Light, Crystal Palace came from 2-0 down to beat Sunderland 3-2.
Jermain Defoe seized on a mistake by Joe Ledley as he fired Sunderland into a 39th-minute lead and he then scored again on the hour mark.
A minute later, Ledley atoned for his earlier error with a goal and James McArthur headed in an equaliser before Christian Benteke's stoppage-time strike completed the south London club's comeback and denied Sunderland a first league win of the season.
Tony Pulis was unable to mark his 1 000th game as a manager with a win as his West Bromwich Albion side drew 1-1 away to former club Stoke City.
Joe Allen put Stoke ahead in the 73rd minute before Salomon Rondon equalised deep into stoppage time.
West Ham United play Southampton on Sunday and Monday sees Burnley at home to Watford.

Arsenal Manager, Arsene Wenger Plays Down Mou Face Break Threat.

Wenger said on Friday that he preferred to avoid a "destructive mode" as he played down claims that adversary Jose Mourinho had once wanted to "break his face.
The Arsenal manager said he was concentrating solely on the Gunners' Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday and did not want to linger on the controversial quote, contained in a new biography of Manchester United boss Mourinho being serialised in the Daily Mail newspaper.

Arsene Wenger, celebrating his 20th anniversary with the Gunners, clashed repeatedly with Mourinho when the Portuguese was in charge of London rivals Chelsea.
According to the new biography, Mourinho allegedly once told the author, football journalist Rob Beasley, when discussing Arsene Wenger: I will find him one day outside a football pitch and I will break his face.

But Arsene Wenger, 66, keen not to add any fuel to the fire, told a news conference: "Look, I haven't read the book and I certainly won't read it.
"I cannot comment on that. I talk about football and that's all I do. I'm not in a destructive mode, ever. I'm more constructive and I cannot comment on that because I'm focused on tomorrow's game and how we want to play football.

The Frenchman added: "What is amazing is that has nothing to do with our game tomorrow. I personally am just focused on doing my job well and respecting everybody else.
"I do not want to especially comment because we play Chelsea tomorrow. I have no personal problem with anybody, I respect everybody in our game and I don't feel I comment a lot on other teams.

Sometimes I just say what I think, but that is part of the way I am.
Wenger added that the rivalry between Arsenal and Chelsea -- where Antonio Conte is now in charge -- was about more than his fractious relationship with Mourinho, who was sacked last season by Chelsea and took over at United this summer.

Honestly, for me it was always just a big game and an important game, and the personal rivalry that you suggest existed stronger before was never, in my head, a concern," Wenger said.
Asked if he would reveal his thoughts on Mourinho one day in an autobiography, Wenger replied: "I don't know, I will maybe make a book one day, but I am not ready for that yet."
Mourinho was due to hold his regular Friday press conference later in the day.

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klapp shies away from title talk

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp refused to countenance the suggestion his side might be Premier League title contenders following their impressive 2-1 victory at Chelsea.
Dejan Lovren's close-range volley and Jordan Henderson's sublime 25-yard curler earned Liverpool victory at Stamford Bridge on Friday, with Diego Costa replying for the home side.
Liverpool have also beaten Arsenal and defending champions Leicester City this season, but Klopp was no more willing to discuss their title chances than he had been after their 3-1 win here last October.
"I'm really not interested," he told a reporter in the Stamford Bridge press conference room when asked about Liverpool's title prospects.
"Someone asked me that when we won 3-1 last season against Chelsea. My answer was: 'Are you crazy?' I remember it.
"I learnt a little bit about the English (media). We have 10 points. That's fantastic. I'm really happy after these difficult fixtures.
"We know we can play good football, we're convinced about our quality. We just have to do it every week, or every three days."
The only blot on Liverpool's league record so far was their surprise 2-0 defeat at promoted Burnley, which was followed by a 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool's performance on Friday was notable for its intensity, with midfielders Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum and Henderson helping to prevent Chelsea gaining a foothold in the game.
Klopp was dismissive when it was put to him that his players might struggle to sustain such a rhythm and said their dominance of possession in the first half had actually helped them save energy.
"I've managed for 16 years and I get asked that all the time," said the German, whose side visit second-tier Derby County in the League Cup on Tuesday.
"It's not about intensity. It's about finding a solution for the opponent. In the first half it was not that intense.
"We had the ball, so it's about movement, playing football simply. We can come through the lines by running.
"The most intense football is if you make a mistake and have to run in the wrong direction, as we did for their goal. We have to improve, but we don't run like crazy all the time."
'FEEL THE DANGER '
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte handed a second debut to Brazilian centre-back David Luiz, who returned to the club on transfer deadline day after two seasons at Paris Saint-Germain.
It was Conte's first defeat as Chelsea manager and the first time he had seen one of his teams beaten at home in a league game since Juventus lost 2-1 to Sampdoria in January 2013.
The former Italy manager said both of Liverpool's goals had been the result of defensive inattention from his players.
Philippe Coutinho was allowed to take a short free-kick before crossing for Lovren to put Liverpool in front in the 17th minute, while Henderson's goal stemmed from a throw-in.
Chelsea slumped to a disappointing 10th-place finish last season and Conte warned his players they risk meeting a similar fate this term if they do not sharpen up.
"I don't want to repeat a bad season like last year," he said.
"I don't want that. For this reason we must pay attention in every single moment of the game, in every minute.
"I'm the coach, so I must work more on this aspect. Now, it's not enough. Because this is not the first time this has happened.
"We must feel the danger in every single moment of the game, if we want to win and think like a great team.
"Chelsea is a great team, but we must show this in every single game, to pay attention and be focused."
Chelsea were without captain John Terry, who damaged ankle ligaments in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Swansea City.
Conte said he did not know if the centre-back would be fit for the mid-week League Cup tie at Leicester.

Jordan Henderson strike has sounds like that of Gerrard

Jordan Henderson has spent much of his Liverpool career being compared unfavourably with Steven Gerrard, but his stunning goal against Chelsea on Friday could have come straight from the copybook of the former Anfield hero.

After Dejan Lovren had put Liverpool ahead, Henderson took aim from 30 metres, curling home a superb effort that ended a goal drought stretching back more than eight months.

It put Liverpool two ahead on their way to a 2-1 victory that ended the hosts' unbeaten start to the season and underlined the growing potential of Juergen Klopp's Liverpool side.

It was such an impressive finish that Gerrard even joined in the celebration, sharing a picture of Henderson's effort on his Instagram account.

For Henderson, it was a further illustration of his renaissance this season with his superb effort capping a powerful overall display.

After his last campaign was disrupted by injury, Henderson's role as Liverpool captain had come under scrutiny, with some fans even questioning whether he would cement a regular place in Klopp's side.

Instead he has begun the season with a calm authority that Liverpool's midfield has perhaps lacked since Gerrard bade farewell to Anfield 16 months ago.

Playing in a deep-lying role, Henderson provided a platform for Liverpool to launch a flurry of first-half attacks, before helping the visitors snuff out any threat of a Chelsea fightback after the break.

"I had a good feeling going into the game," Henderson said. "We knew it would be difficult as Chelsea are a good side but I thought we defended well and deserved the three points.

"It was about time I got a goal but I always say the most important thing is the three points."
Liverpool have now taken 10 points from a possible 15 and sit well-placed after a gruelling start to the campaign.
They have faced perhaps the toughest opening fixtures of any Premier League side having played Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea away from home while last weekend's win over champions Leicester City has been their only match at Anfield in five games.

Klopp swatted away questions about a potential title challenge in the aftermath at Stamford Bridge, preferring instead to talk about another impressive away performance.
"It was very intense very, very lively and flexible. Our buildup was brilliant in the first half," he said.

"I was really happy with the style of play and how we did it and the confidence."
Liverpool face Derby County in the League Cup on Tuesday before their Premier League campaign continues at home to Hull City next Saturday.

Dominant Red beats Chelsea with an impressive 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge on Friday

Captain Jordan Henderson scored a stunning winning goal as Liverpool ended Antonio Conte's unbeaten record as Chelsea manager with an impressive 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge on Friday.

In a dominant first-half display, Liverpool took the lead through Dejan Lovren before England midfielder Henderson curled home a superb effort from distance in the 36th minute.

Diego Costa reduced the arrears in the second half with his fifth goal of the campaign, but Jurgen Klopp's men held out to register another eye-catching Premier League win.

"We played football like hell," Klopp told Sky Sports. "It was really nice to watch. In the second half it was a bit more difficult. After their goal, we managed it well."

Liverpool have also beaten Arsenal and champions Leicester City this season, the only blot on their league record being a surprise 2-0 defeat at promoted Burnley.

They moved level on points with Chelsea and Merseyside rivals Everton in the early-season standings, two points below leaders Manchester City.

It had been with a 3-1 victory on this ground that Klopp recorded his first win as Liverpool manager 11 months ago. On Friday's evidence, his team are title contenders.

Chelsea would have gone top with victory, but instead Conte tasted defeat for the first time in his fledgling tenure as his side dropped points again following last weekend's 2-2 draw at Swansea City.

"We must feel the danger and today, we didn't," said Conte.
"We have to reflect a lot on this game because it is important to understand the situation if we don't want to repeat another bad season like last season."
It was Conte's first home league defeat since a 2-1 loss to Sampdoria with Juventus in January 2013.
David Luiz, meanwhile, lost to Liverpool on his second Chelsea debut, following his return to the club from Paris Saint-Germain -- just as he had in his first appearance in February 2011.

CHELSEA SWITCH OFF
Liverpool were without Roberto Firmino due to what the club said was a "minor groin strain", but any fears they might miss the hard-working Brazilian forward were banished immediately.
The away side registered two shots on target inside the first two minutes, Thibaut Courtois saving from Georginio Wijnaldum and Daniel Sturridge, and they took the lead in the 17th minute.
Chelsea were punished for twice switching off at a free-kick on the Liverpool left.

First they allowed Philippe Coutinho to take the set-piece quickly, giving the Brazilian time to measure an in-swinging cross towards the back post.
Slack marking left Sadio Mane and Lovren unmarked and it was the Croatian -- back in the team after an eye injury -- who seized the chance, beating Courtois with an adroit side-foot volley.
After Sturridge had thrashed a cross-shot across goal, Chelsea created their first real chance when Luiz's looping header from Willian's free-kick was fielded by Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

But within two minutes the hosts were 2-0 down as Henderson gathered a hurried clearance from Gary Cahill, steadied himself and arced a sublime 25-yard shot right into Courtois's top-left corner.
"It was nice, really nice," was Klopp's verdict on the goal. "He's such a hard worker. It was well deserved."
Chelsea's players were being bypassed by the match, but they managed to plug some of the holes in their defence in the second half and in the 61st minute, Costa gave them a lifeline.

Joel Matip's unnecessary decision to go to ground enabled Nemanja Matic to reach the byline on the left and the Chelsea midfielder cut the ball back for Costa to volley home at the near post.
The Brazil-born Spain international scored a late equaliser at Swansea and he threatened to do the same here, brilliantly gathering Oscar's headed knock-down and lashing a shot at Mignolet.

But despite Conte sending on Cesc Fabregas, Victor Moses and Pedro, it was Liverpool who came closest to scoring again, substitute Divock Origi's header drawing a fine goal-line stop from Courtois.
